WHAT Is’ THIS? ‘ The ISland University is interested in having "you" the-high school student and potentially "you" the university student know what U.P.E.I. is all about. We are venturing, there- fore, to acquaint you with‘ our campus by showing you what graduates of your high schOol - Charlottetown Rural - are now doing at U.P.E.I., both academically and nonacademically. We hope this will benefit you by familiarizing you with our campus and having you become aware of pro rams, activities, and fa01lities available to you. Her title in the.School musical,_VTwelvetDancing ’Princesses"'is‘somewhat misleading, for this is One lady who does not Spend her time waiting for action,.;she makes -I went in, 'action! ,nwe11"’ explains Kim: "four of us (stupid as we were), headed over to Marian armed with water balloons. One girl es- caped and three of us got whipped right into onelittle shower stall!" ’ 'Although'Kem went home soaked that night, her university pursuits were anything but down the drain! "Just before exams," states Kim, " I was run- ning in 2 inches of water down first floor Marian; ’IVtripped and so did the' fellow I slid into. Even— tually, seVeral people were lying on the floor ‘ soaked. One drenched girl jumped in is bed and rolled in hlS sheets. When ‘ was madly waving one of his books under the covers, trying to dry out his sheets!" Who ever said all univer- sity students cram tq.pass exams? ‘For that matter.g. who ever said all univer— .sity students pass exams?! Kim did pass her exams and ‘confesses she learned tthings'at U.P.E.I. which she didn't learn in high school, and probably Would ' not have learned had she been employed full time. x, , ‘5 .v "Living off campus has its disadvantages", explains Kim, "it is definitely hard to fit in if you do not put forth some effort. I find there is a lack of organized activities to , participate in if you're not 18.- However, with the small size of U.P.E.I. it isn't hard to make friends." Kim's attitude will com- pliment her future career as a lawyer. This business student also has other plans. _"I'm going to stay away from Marion Hall, it's not safe over there anymore!"
