EDMUND DUCHEMIN Word has been received in Char- lottetown of the death of Mr. Ed- mund Duchemln, which occurred this week at his home in New Jersey. 'The late Mr. Duchemin was well known in Charlottetown, having carried on a. block making and ship supply busi- ness iii conjunction with his brother, Mr. Albert Duchemln. This business was situated on the corner of Prince -ind King Streets, and afterwards was removed to what is now known as Hogaifs Wharf, and subsequently to the head of the Stream Naviga- tion' Wharf. Before the latter move, however, the lute Mr. Duchemin had severed his connection with the firm and had removed, with his wife and family, to the United States, where he had since resided. During his re- sidence there, ,he had succeeded, one cause for this being an invention which is now used in railway cars through the United States audi Can- ada. De- ceased, who had entered upon her fifty-sight year, wus a woman ot wonderful ability and was noted for her unilaggiug devotion to duty and her self-sscrliicing heroic spirit which was called forth and proven after the death of her first husband, the late Gilbert Chcverie, when with two little children she was forced to face the cruel world slonc.
