united in marriage to Austin N.
Burns, Norwich, Conn., on Wednes-
day, August 30th. They were mur-
ricd by Rev. John L. .I-less, Walth-
am. The bride looked charming in a
dress of white lawn trimmed with in-
sertion and lace and wore a hat to
match. The groom’s gift to the bride
was a beautiful upright piano. After
a wedding tour the happy couple will
reside in Waltham.
'Prof. James C. Miller of Teachers’
College, Columbia University,_ New
York, visited Charlottetown last
week. Prof. Miller has journeyed
through Canada from the Pacific to
the Atlantic making a study of the
educational systems of the various
Provinces of the Dominion. While
here he called on Dr. Anderson, Prin-
cipal Robertson and Principal Crock-
ett of the Consolidated School and
spent two days in consultation with
Inspector McCormnc. Mr. Miller ex-
pressed himself as very agreeably sur-
prised at finding on P. E. I. a per-
son so well informed on the educa-
tional systems and school laws of
every part of the world as is Inspect-
or McCormac. He was particularly
interested in Mr. McCormac's free
-lending library for teachers as well
as in his extensive private education-
al library containing the school laws
and school reports of almost every
civilized country on the globe.

auditor of the Victor American Fuel
Co., a firm operating mines in three
or four States, with its headquarters
in Denver. Mrs. McLeod and children

Arizona, are visiting Mr. Munn's par-
ents, Roderick nnd Mrs. Munn, Marsh-
field. Mr. Munn, who is well known

are spending part of their bridal tour
at Mr. Munn's former home. That
gentleman holds a very important

was empowered to order 500 feet of
red cross fire hose. A resolution

of Upper Prince Street School, pro-
vided the School Board pays for same\
in three equal annual pay-ments. A re-
solution wns passed ordering the lay-
ling of a concrete . sidewalk on Kent
St, from Weymoth to C`umlierland_St.
north side, after the completion of
the work on Prince St. Conn. Taylor
complained that the City Surveyor
had used nnbccoxning language to-
wards him nnd tendered his resigna-
tion as n member of the street com-
