Annual Meeting Long Greek The annual meeting of the Long Creek Baptist Church was held on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 22nd with quite a number of members pres- ent. Since the last annual meet- ing. members were very sorry lo lose their pastor, Rev. All. Todd and family and in the absence of a pastor, Mr. Norman Stretch was appointed chairman. The minutes of last were read and approved. Very comprehensive reports were rc- ceivcd frcm. the various branches o! the church work and were very encouraging. The people are very thankful to have secured the scr- vices qf Mrs. Stephen Ackland who ‘meeting very faithfully conducts services when the weather permits. The following officers were elected for the coming year; - Secretary and clerk, Mrs. Malcolm MacNolll (re-elected); treasurer, Ted Stretch (rs-elected). secre- tary-treasurer s! cemetery fund, Mrs. Donald MacEachun (re-el- ected). Trustees. Hugh Mac-Ken- zie. Stanton MacPhee and Norman Stretch. All other ccmsnitteea were re- appointed. Some general business in connection vwiih the church was discussed. During the past sum- meg the members were pleased to welcome back to Long Creek two former members of the Baptist Church: Mrs. David Rosscr (fer- merly Flo Stretch) of Seattle who presented us with money to pur- chase a gas lantern to be placed at the entrance of the church; also Mr. George Dicklefson of Saskat- chewan who gave a substantial sum of money to go towards church work, this being the sec- ond contribution we received from Mr. Diciflerson. To these kind friends the rnunbers say "thank you". not only for their financial help but the fact that their thoughts go back to their old home church. and although different members carry on the church work 110W. may the kindness of former members such as these renew in- spiraticns and spllr all on to bet- ter and greater endeavours. - s1.
