The farmers of Valleyfield and surrounding districts have started working the land in preparation for seeding and planting. How- ever. this spring's operations were shipping as well as cold unfavor- able weather. Miss Marguerite MacDonald ts convalescing at her home in Val- Ieyfield after a recent operation in the Toronto hospital. Her many friends are glad to know that she was able to make the trip home and that her health is im- proving steadily. With the fishing season well under way the Valleyfield stream has once again become a centre for those who follow the sport with the hope of landing the his onu that are known to be there. However the fish are choosy this season and only the experts can lure a good sized trout while the smaieur must be contented to tell about the big one that got away. It is hoped the gravel washing that takes place annually further up stream will not be started this year as. it has a serious effect on the sport of fishing so popular in this area. .::.(-..EE .
