     At this season of the year, we, your Government, wish to extend to all our i 7 ‘ f ~ “a 
     
     citizens the eternal message of peace and good will. A long time ago, Kings | : | 
     
     from the East and the Shepherds from the hills gathered around a crude 
     
    
   
   
    
     manger to present their gifts and from the fullness.of their harts, to proclaim 
     
     . the glad message of Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men. Down through the 
     
     centuries, people. of all nations still remember and hold in reverence the 
     
     _ song of the Herald Angles and the spirit of Bethlehem. In that spirit of 
     
     thankfulness we turn our attention today to this goodly land of ours, where 
     
     hunger and plague and convulsive revolutions are things unknown to us. We 
     
     _ need from time to time to count our blessings and be greatful for the peace 
     
     and plenty which we continually enjoy. We are blessed with a healthy and "
