Sir ; Ihave to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatches of the 7th 13th October, reporting your resumption of the Government of Prince Edward Island, and request- ing permission to draw for the regulated allowance of ples, black Oriental Cloth, black, blue and green veils, passage money, to enable you to defray the expense of Silk Nets, Laces, Edgings and Insertions in great va- your return to this country. In compliance with your request, instructions have been given tothe Lords Commissioners of the Treasury, to authorize payment to your order of the passage allow- ance of £300 I regret to find from your Despatch, that you are un- equal to encounter the exposure of a journey from Prince Edward Island in the depth of the Winter. I trust there- fore, that it will be an accommodation to you to learn, that in consequence of the difficulty at that season of the vear, in crossing the Gulph, Sir Donald Campbell will relieve you in your Government, towards the close of the present month, it being his intention to leave England by the Steam-boat of the 19th instant.
