RECORD 0E OUR PRESENT LIQUOR SELLERS.
THE accompanying table presents to our readers the court record of the
liquor sellers holding license under the Provincial Tax Actin the City of Char-
lottetown. It will be noted that some of the number have not been convicted
ofviolating the liquor laws although infomation has been laid against many
of them. Others were not engaged in the business during the time of the
Scott Act. Many other convictions which do not appear in the list are
chargeable to the mothers,wives or ,bartenders of present licensees,having been
inchrge while the convicted partieswere either in jiil or evading the law-
Ons case will be noted where the party was not convicted under the Scott Act,
but was convicted and :tiued for violating the Sunday Observerance Act.

must remember those conventions are
composed of political time-servers who .
are prepared to throw over the honest
min every time, if by so doing they can
secure a man with plenty of means and
not over scrupulous in regard io the use
of those bad means. In short the man
who is supposed to be able and willing
to spend the dollars. either in cash or
rum. to corrupt the slectorate and there-
by secure their election. Such is the
one prefered in conventions as at present
