Mr. Scraavan’s Deata.—The eudden illness of MrJohn P Sullivan, of St Peter’s Bay, to which reference was made in our last issue, terminated fatally about 2.45 yesterday afternoon. An internal bemorr- hage, the result of a rupta re of one of the arteries leading tu the heart, is believed to have been tne cause of death. After death the body was removed to the residence of Chief Justice Sullivan,from which the faner- al took place to the railway station at 7 o'clock this morning. The interment will take place at St Peter's Bay to-morrow. Superintendent Sharp very kindly placed his private car at the disposal of Chief Justice Sullivan and the funeral party. AccipentaLir Saot.—A young map, son of Mr Dennis Rooney, of Montague, was accidentally shot a few nights ago. It seems that the sheep in that vicinity bave been worried considerably by dogs of late, and some ot the people went gunning for the oftending canines. One of these, a brother of young Rooney’s, saw something moving about his yard near a waggoo which he thought was adog, and fired in the direction ot the object. Some of the shot with which the guo was charged found a Icdging place in the legs cf young Rooney,wLo, in the dark- ness of the n‘ght, was mistaken for a dog.
