     ROAD COMPENSATION ACT. 
     
     PUBLIC NOTICE. 
     
    
     “ HEREAS a Commission has been isued. directed to us. under 
     
    
     and by virtue of an Act passed in the fourteenth year of 
     
     the reign of “or present Majesty Queen Victoria, entitled “An 
     
     Act to regulate the laying out and altering of Highways,” and in 
     
     the Acts in amendment thereof; whereby we are commanded to 
     
     enquire what damage or advantage will accrue to those persons 
     
     who are interested in the Land through which a certain new road 
     
     is intended to be made, commencing at the southern termination 
     
     of the present road through Bay Fortune Settlement,and terminat- 
     
     ing at the shore at Howe Bay, and which road will run through 
     
     or over the lands ot James Dingwell and Charles Dingwell. 
     
    
     Now we do hereby give Public Notice to all parties concerned, 
     
     that we will commence the execution of the said Commission, by 
     
     attending at the aforesaid place, on MONDAY, the 27th day of 
     
     AUGUST next, at the hour of Eleven o’clock, in the forenoon of 
     
     the same day, and will proceed along the proposed line ofroad and 
     
     complete said Commission according to law.

     of the Act 16th Victoria. Cap. 18, completed the purchase of 
     
     thoso Townships, portions of Townships, and Islands, the property 
     
     of Sir Edward Cunard, Baronet, and William Cunard, Esquire, 
     
     being Townships Numbers 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, I4, 20, 21, 27, 32, 44, 
     
     45, 46, 48, 49, 55, 63, 64, 65, Fish Island, Savage Island, Kildare 
     
     Island and Cascumpec Sand Island, hereby notiﬁes all TENANTS 
     
     and OCCUPIERS or LAND, on the above properties, desirous of par- 
     
     chasing their several locations, that, in accordance with the 10th 
     
     Section of the above recited Act, he will shortly be prepared to 
     
     receive the Deposit of the Purchase Money of their several hold- 
     
     ings, upon producing their titles, or agreements for the same, of 
     
    
     which due notice will be given.

     IS Excellency the Lieutenant Governor in Council was this 
     
     1 day pleased to ﬁx and determine the rate at which the 
     
     amount of the Invoice of Dutiable Goods imported into this Is- 
     
     land from the United States bf America, shall, in estimating the 
     
     duties payable thereon, be reduced into current money of the 
     
     Island, as follows:— 
     
    
     In all cases where such Invoices shall be made out in Dollars and 
     
     Cents of the paper currency of the United States, the amount of 
     
     such Invoice shall be reduced into current moneybf the Island, 
     
     by allowing for each Dollar the sum of Five Shillings, and in the 
     
    
     like proportion for any fraction of a Dollar; of which all Collec- 
     
     tors of Impost are to take notice and govern themselves accor-

     TO BE SOLD by PUBLIC AUCTION, on THURSDAY, the 
     
     Twan'rH day of JULY next, at the hour of 12 o’clock, noon. 
     
     at the COLONIAL BUILDING in Charlottetown, under and by virtue 
     
     of a Power of Sale contained in a certain Indenture of Mortgage, 
     
     bearing date the Thirteenth day of June, AD. 1862, and made 
     
     between John Egan then of Charlottetown, in Prince Edward  
     
     land, Plasterer, and Margaret Egan, his wife, of the one part, and 
     
     the Hon. John Longworth, of the same place, Barrister-at-Law, oi 
     
     the other part: ALL that piece or parcel of Land,situate on or form 
     
     ing part of Common Lot No. Thirty-two, within the Royalty ofChar' 
     
     lottetown, and described as Plot number Twelve in a certain Deed 
     
     of Conveyance of parts of said Common Lot, executed by Francis 
     
     Longworth and Sarah Parker, his wife, to the said John Longworth, 
     
     bearing date the ﬁfth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and 
     
     ﬁfty-six, and also on the pan annexed to said Deed, the said Plot 
     
     being bounded on tho North-Westward by the St. Peter’s Road, and 
     
     having a sufﬁcient front thereon to give Forty-two feet on a right 
     
     angle line, with parallel side lines running South-castwardly from 
     
     said Road, the South-western side line being Eighty-eight feet in 
     
     length, and the North-eastern ninety-nine feet, the said North 
     
     eastern line forming the side ine of a new street recently opened 
     
     from the St. Peter’s Road to Euston Street, together with all 
     
     buildings, fences, improvemens, rights and appurtenances to the 
     
     said described piece of land, bellonging or appertaining.

     of the undersigned, in Charlottetown.
