was a decided success- The Moving
Pictures, Illustrated songs and vaude-
ville preseuted by Dr. P. L. Hermann
and his party of professional enter-
lainers, was very much enjoyed by
all, its it was the best the people ever
have seen there. The door receipts
would probably have been twice as
miich, had it not been for thc dark
night and indications of rain. In spite
of this however one of the Pownal
citizens collected $18.15 at the door.
The anlount was given to Mrs. Geo.

Cross Society of which she is presid-
ent at Pownal. All those interested ill
the welfare of the Red Cross Society
