'I1-IE KIRMEBS.-There was an-
other large and delighted audience,
composed principally ol ladies and
children, at the matinee performance
oi the Kirmess which was given at
the Opera House on Saturday after-
noon. The voting for the best
group oi dances was concluded, and
in the result the children came out
on top with a total of 1,280 votes,
the Roumanians being next with 1,065
votes, the Carmen group following
with 745 votes, then the Spanish
dancers with 520 votes, the Bohe-
minus with 48'8, the Summer Boys
and Girls with 22, and the Japanese
with 20. The total sum of money
reulised by the voting was $414,
which is to be devoted entirely to
charity. To-night a Klrmess ball
will he given for the adult portion of
the Kirmess performers, while later
in the week a special entertainment
for the children who helped to make
the show the unqualified success it
was, will be given.
HEALTHY SEED POTATOES
