opened at 7.80 with devotional exor-
cises, led by Rev. J. Dystant. With
Rev. G. P. R-.iytuoud in the chair and
Rev. l. J. Grant extended ' 'a cordial
behalfofthe citizens and churches of
Summer-side, responded to by iRov. J.
.J. Teasdale of Charlottetown. Prof.
liamill gave an hours address on the
history of Sunday School work in the
United S'ates,Canada and Great Britain
during the century. At the close of
his address he et-ited that he was re-
quested by the committee in charge of
that branch to ask delegates for a guar-
antee from their Sunday Schools-of
$100.00 to defray the expenses in con-
nection with the work of a field secre-
tary for the island during two months
of the year. A liberal response was the
result--the sum of $102.00 _being guar-
anteed by d-legates on beha'f of the
schools represented by them. A quir-
tette consisting of Messrs Morris, Lcard
McDonald, and Slacktorti sang very
pleasipgly and effectively "One of the
sweet old chapters". and achoir eel-
ected froni the different churches ren-
dered several choice selections during
the session. A
Prof. Hamill gave one of his very
best addresses on the opportunity and,
responsibility of the S. S Teacher. The
afternoon session opened at 2.30 with
the newly elected President, Mr. L.
Morris in the chair, Rev. J. Goldsmith
.conducted a conference on Sunday
School management. Rev. R. F. Whis-
ton gave an excellent address on the
essentials of success in S. S. work.
These essentials he said are strong faith
in God aknowledge of the Bible. and a
deep love for the work. The closing
address of the session was by Prof.
