A., a native oi Prince Edward Island, and well and favor- ably known in the Synod ot the Mar- itime Provinces, is making good as pastor oi the Presbyterian congrega- tion of Avonmore, Ontario. Last, year was the most prosperous in the history ot the congregation. The contribution to Missions was double than usually given. After nil bills were paid there was a substantial' balance on the right side. Mr. Mc- Phee is equally fluent and impressive, in Gaelic and English, and is in tre- quent demand at Communion ser- vices. Other congregations have made attempts to lure him away from Avonmore, but he has telt that he could not leave his devoted peo- ple. On one occasion, when the pse- tor and his family had returned (rom their vacation, n public reception was tendered them, complimentary addresses were made, and a purse ot $233, was presented to the beloved pastor.
