Train, the well known lawyer and author of New York, his wife and three other ladies had a narrow escape from ser- ious injury or death today from the explosion of petrol in their auto. Mr. Train arrived too late to attend the Uamorist trial mid started for Rome. Leaving Vitebro, the chauileur was putting in a supply of petrol when a boy appeared with fi lighted mgtch. An explosion occurred and in ri mo- ment the auto was in flames. The ln- dies' dresses caught fire, but soldiers from the neighboring barracks rushed to the spot and managed to smother me names by throwing their coats about the women, who were practic- ally uninjured.
