Burns, Maipeque. died in the Prince County Hospital, Sum- merside, after having been hol- pitallzed for over five months suffering from a fatal illness, which she bore with unusual sweetness and patience. Born in Charlottetown she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Mugford (nee Prudence Waye). She-Iwas educated in Charlotte- town and after attending business college she was for many years it valued employee of DeBlols Bros. Early in life she was called upon to mourn all who were near and dear to her as one by one her father, sister and mother were taken from her, but later she took her place in her husband's family as a beloved sister and daughter and as such she was treasured and is deeply mourned. In the community of Malpeque where she came as a bride she was loved and honored as few people are privileged to be and because of her sincere friendly manner she made lasting friend- ships wlth one and all. She was especially kind to the very old and the very young. and since her death many little deeds of kindness have come to light. She practised and lived true Christian principles each day as though it were to be her last day. In the home she really shone and it is there she will be most keenlylmissed. Her heart was bound by its four walls and she was never as happy as when bus- ily engaged making it more com- fortable for her husband and friends. She was a gracious host- ess and extended to all who came true friendship and hospitality. She united at an early age with the church and was ever a loyal and consistent and to all the branches of church work she gave of her best. was always present at there. During her long and painful illness she was hourly sustained by in Higher Power and drew .renglh and courage from the visits of her own Pastor and oth- er Clergy who called on her. The funeral was held from the United Church at Malpeque on May 20th. 1952, and was very largely attended. Her Pastor T. MacDonald. Archie MacDonald. William MarGiillvary, John Riley. Wendnll Crozier, and Vernon Mc- Gougan. She leaves to mourn her hus- band and two uncles, Mr. Enoch Mugford, Rutland, B. C., and Mr. James Waye, Hunter River, P. E. I., to whom deep sympathy is ex- pressed. She was laid to rest in the,fam- lly plot in the People's Cemetery, Charlottetown, beside her father. mother and sister Minnie. A lovely life has come to a close but in the garden of mem- ories of relatives and friends her name shall always be fragrant and beautiful. You cannot say, you must not say That she is dead. She is just nway, With a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand has wandered into an un- known land And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be. since she iingers there? : So think of her faring on. as She ear in the love of There as the love of Here.
