Oct. 2- (CP) - Unprecedented activity next year along the northern ship- ping line to and from Churchill and British ports was predicted today by exponents of the Hudson [lay route following yesterday's announcement that this season had seen a record quantity of grain shipped through the in'and 1iort. When the Fort Kootenay steam- ed out. of the northern Manitoba port Tuesday carrying 336,000 bushels of English-bound wheat it meant that 4,975,754 bushels had been shipped via the route since the first vessel left Aug. i4. While this total fell far short of the 16.000000 bushels members of the Hudson Boy Route Associa- tion had hopefully set as a mark long before the season started. it npproximated the 5000.000 bushels the Canadian Wheat Board said would be earmarked for delivery to the United Kingdom through Churchill. It also exceeded by 682,754 bushels the previous grain export record of 4,293,000 bushels ship- ped in i936.
