0 Northern Shrike Two birds were collected, one on Feb. 24, 1956 and another on Feb. 10, 1964. Swamp Sparrow Two were collected, one on Feb. 14, 1958 and the otherJFeb. 17, 1958, both on Mt. Stewart Marsh. These were identified by W. Earl Godfrey as Melospiza georgiana. Yellow-billed Cuckoo One was collected Nov. 4, 1963. One was seen on Sept. 20, 1964 at the Big Hill, Savage Harbour. Upland Sandpiper In the early spring of 1959 either late April or early May, I collected one. It was identified by one of the PzE.I. National Park Naturalists. This specimen was later destroyed. ‘ - Vir inia Rail Single birds found dead in traps at Mt. Stewart Marsh in 1957: Nov. 17, 29 and 30. Some of these are in my personal collection. I have trapped for a good number of years here and this is the only time I have taken any. The fall and early winter of the 1957—58 season was very mild. This indicateS'that most years they are gone south before Nov. 1. One heard calling at Mt. Stewart Marsh during May 15, l6, 19, 27 and June 3, 1961. Bufflehead On Oct. 30, 1958 the late Lane Pigot shot four of these ducks at Mt. Stewart Marsh. I sent the skin of one to the National Museum of Canada.
