Many children are pale, weak, and bloodless from their birth. Many others have their blood and nerves exhaust- ed, and their systems broken down by the ravages of disease, or as the re- sult of over-study at school. Dr. Chase's Nerve Food is the ideal treatment for children. It supplies the very elements which are lacking in the pale, weak, and nervous. It restores the colour and richness to the blood, :lnvigorates the nerves, and builds up the system. As a restorative after the exhausting and debilitating effects of measles. scarlet fever, and such ail- ments, it is ot incalculable worth. Mrs. Stephen Dempsey, Albury, P. _E. county. Ont., writes:-" My little grand- daughter, nine _vears old, was very pale and weak, and had no appetite. She _had a tired, wornout appearance, and was delicate and sickly. I got some of Dr. Chase‘e Nerve Food for her, and it has helped her very much. She is gaining considerably in weight _ and looks real healthy." On Thursday last adeputation of prom- inent and representative temperaiice men ` from various parts of the Province waited _ upon members of the Legislature and pre- sented their views in favor of abrogating the License Law and the adoption of Pro- vincial Prohibition. The delegatiou in- cluded the following well known represen- tatives of the leading temperance organi- \ zations: 4 Hon. B. Rogers, Alberton. Rev. A. F. Brown, North River. Rev. D. B. McLeod, City. G. W. Simpson, Bay View. David Arbing, Freetown. John Edwards, Wiltshire. Daniel Fraser, Kingston. A ' Hugh McMillan, New Haven. ' S. M. Martin, Valleydeld. John Anderson, Kensington J. Kaye Ross, Do. A. W. Stei-ns, Do. The delegation had prepared a bill to give effect to their views which will be submitted to the Legislature. Premier Farquharson informed the delegation that he was in telegraphic correspondence with Hon. David Mills, the Minister of Justice in reimrd to the powers of _the_Pro- vincial Legislature to enact a prohibitory measure, but had not then received an answer to the questions submitted. Wliat the temperunce people desire is to secure such a méasure of prohibition as is assur- edly within the power of the Legislature to pass. lt would be a. mistake to exceed our powers, just as it would be a mistake to permit the License Law to remain on mcn_would be masters of the situation. \Ve believe that it majority of the mem- bers of the Legislature are disposed to give fair consideration to the Bill submit- regard to keeping within our legislative powers while rdohibiting the sale of intoxicating beverages. It is mentioned that the Premier was asked if, in case the Prohibitory Bill should not become law, the License Act would be re- pealed and that he repiiéd in the negative. rim Guineas regards it ia. of vial im- l J.
