This dredge f got through digging at Mount Stewart, lust week ago, and was towed to Char- lottetown where she was dismantled and the main crane, weighing up- wards of fifteen tons, was landed safe on Pownal wharf. The dredge was hauled out Saturday and ie now blocked up on dry land. The hauling out, which used to be accomplished by the use of horse capetans and winches, was this time performed by taking the tackle through her hull and on to her main hoisting drum and it can be said that she steamed up on _ dry land to get repaired. The part of the work moat admired by the large crowd of spectators was ' the wonderful ease with which this big undertaking was accomplished, show- ing that the preparations and plan' were skilfully made. An amusing part of the proceedings was when the dredge arrived at her destination the foreman, Angus DesRoches, overcome with joy when he saw that the work was performed without a bitch, took off his cap and shouted, as he alone can do, "Three cheers -to B. L. Borden," which was oalmllt HP lwlft' ily by nearly all the onlookers and workmen, with a rous ng “Hip Hip Hip, hurrah.” It is understood that the Tugs "Rona" and "Islander," ae well as the ferry boat “Hillsbor- ough," are also going to be _hauled out in this dock. This is as it ought to be, instead of having this work done on the slip at Picton, have. it performed by Prince Edward Island workmen in Prince Edward Island. mee mee" iieimee, ssiawie-e neue, iesven memes for Nw York City w -shi intends to rs- °*°°~ Q/reeenie,`. _ e ° r- ; raiexeneer F usenoueia Mon- ' ' I-'f~ 'V 'H i 1 ` " ‘ ' ticelio, was in Souris l'°riday.' ’ .
