Residence Auction Sale The Residence Life Committee’s Auction Sale on Saturday. November 17 was a huge success raised a whopping figure of $137.50. Besides that we got rid of a lot of stuff. : The auctioneer of the day was Andy "Motor Mouth" Smith. lovely helper Taryn "Vanna Smith" O’Brien. Andy and Taryn auctioned off some weird items for some weird prices; items like Chris "I Like Molson Canadian” Livingston’s three dollar stubby beer bottle (Chris, you don’t even pay three dollars for a beer at the Barn), Tony "All I Have is 50 Cents" MacKenzie’s television set (and believe it or not or not it works), "Super Dave" Fitzgerald’s 25 cent typewriter (that he paid 50 cents for), and Cathy "I Can’t Stop Bidding) Ronahan went a little overboard paying five dollars for four Muppet glasses. Other people purchased some neat articles as well. Eva "I Want to Buy Something" Batiz got a bargain when she paid 35 cents for a set of bathroom scales. Shane "My Buddy" Campbell paid a quarter for a candle for his little buddy from Newfoundland, Mike Rose (that is so he won’t be scared if the power ever goes out in Marian Hall again). There was also a few items at the auction that we are not sure of why people bought them. Robbie "Bobo" MacKinnon purchased a shopping bag cart and two He was assisted by his. broomball sticks. Judy "I'll But Anything" Doucette bought a rowing machine (that probably needs to be worked out itself) for 50 cents. Dave "I Love My Piranha" Fortune bought some fish net (hopefully not to catch more piranha). Samer "Vejeana" E]-Ali got the book A Woman’s Body; An Owner’s Manual. Anyone that attended this auction sale had a great time. Thanks to all those students that helped out. Also thanks to the following businesses that donated prizes for our actioneering school; Canada Games, Arby’s, Subway, That’s Entertainment, The Tradewind Club, CHTN, CFCY, and Burger King. Also a special note of thanks to Kent Thomson of CFCY radio station for taping the Auctioneer’s Song for us. Submitted by Cathy Ronahan AUCTIONEERING MADE EASY! tJ The UPEI X-Press November 22, 1990
