I _ Surnmerside I Registration In November last there were sent from the Head Qmce of the Can- adian National Silver Fox Breed- ers’ Association notices to mem- bers ofthe Association advising them that the annual meeting would be held in Saskatoon, sask- atchewan on January 15th. 1935. Proposed amendments to its Con- stitution accompanied these notices. At the meeting which took place as scheduled many of the prop0S€d amendments were passed among others those providing for the giv- ing up of the regular annual in- spection of foxes, the appointing of tieldmen, the introduction of the privilege of securing Advanced Registration. etc.. while ml»tte\’S relating to the keepin!! 0! “Nh records and the for-waving Of Ranch Statements to Ottawa re- mained as bef0l’¢. In due course six fieldmen were appointed for as many sections to simulate among the ranchers to assist and advise them. Their visits extended throughout Juw and August and in the sections more densely covered with ranches for a extra month or mort. n Fieldmcrfs Work The fieidmen‘s work has been appreciated by ranchers who were thus given the privilege of discuss- ing with them questions dea‘ins with registration feeding, breeding, ranch construction and other mat- ters. as foxmen, especially those who are not so situated as to be in easy oommrurlcation with other ranchers were pleased to compare notes and to discuss their problems. so that in the .suspension or regular inspection the iieldmen to a con- siderable extent replaced the in- spectors of previous years. This year members oi’ the As- sociation were required in have their pups tatoo marked previous to August 15th. They might do this work themselves, or employ whomsoever they wished to do it for them. In older to prevent any inconvenience to ranchers in get- ting their pups marked official markers were named by the Regis- tration Comrnittee.
