V The UPEI‘: SUN, Thursday, 24, 1981, page 10 C By Baylor Moore Intramurals last week saw the Selects go down to defeat twice; once to the lowly Marion team and the other was at the hands of the desperate freshmen. Both losses were just coincidental. The mighty Selects were just playing the squad's young rookies. Needless to say, every one of those rookies were cut by manager Mark "Zirmemlan" Jones. One rookie who managed to stay with the squad was Rager "Pumpkin" Riggs. I always like to give a little update on new players. Roger's head looks like he took Cinderella to the Royal Ball and didn't get her back by twelve. \. If the complaints to ITE do not stop I will quit writing about other teams in the league. Pat "Pointer" MacSWeeney approached me the other ' day and said sorre Smith fellows pitched a no hitter. Frankly, Pat, I don't give a dann. Pat,f . how many walks were there? 10. What was the score? ' 14-13 for then. HON many errors did you guys make? 15. Don't come crying to me. Get out your ballpoint pen and write to Dear V _ Maybe she'll print sorte- ' thing for you. Another thing I can't stand is people conplaining to y the umpires. Tim "Tissue" Sears is the French f . version of Billy Martin. Tim should stop complaining and start catching. The Freshmen Went 2-0 on the week and look decent enough to finish fourth in this tough league. This team, who are made up mostly Doycon midgets, are INTRAMURAL AND RECREATIONAL SCHEDULE Inna m u rals -‘ y \ fielded by John “Beer Belly" Butler and finished fourth in Canadian Midget finals. If they finished fourth there they sl'lould' do no they got they earned Gillette Team of the Week. ' ' ‘ The Gillette player of the week is pitcher Shane "Drugs" Moncghan : of the hapless MSM. Mien Shane started his game, they got five runs off him. Then M&M put in a new pitcher, Imell "Verna" Parkman, and won‘6—5. ‘ Shane should stidc to taking stats. As for Lowell, the Selects trade a star out of‘him-last year and then he left but that is alright = Varsity M EN"S BASKETBALL the 1m prediction" because-now he is a no— body without us. ' » The play of the week was made by banker Steve Bishop on first base. Steve, who banks for the "good ,hands people" (You would never item it) , avr’butine catch at first base‘which I - I scored the winner. , Scott "Sour Milk" Mac- Donald was dirty as he a took'the loss. ‘ " 'Rtmourhas it that Pitcher 7 the soccer teamwill form a franchise in the IBL west "Well, all I have to. say about; . this is the only thing» that will be kicked in; their games is their " behinds- all overkthe baseball field. 7 ‘ Sports WOMEN‘S BASKETBALL m J Oct. 30 UMM u!
