Tv the Editor of the Haami ner. Srr,—1 notice in vesterday’s Daily Patriot an item in reference to Victoria Bridge, condemning Mr. Campb.!! s .apage- ment in reference to this work, and also charging Mr. Anthony Gollet for not being an efficient man for the inspection of such work. The facts are Mr. Collet had no- thing whatever to do with this contract, nor did he receive one dollar for it. The contract was let to Wesley and Robert Myers, and when it was finished all parties claimed it was a good job, but there being such a strong current running through the arches it washed cut the mud from under the brash-work, and the work, con- sequently, settled. It is now being filled in with hard stone at a small cost, and it is supposed will stand for years. If the editor of the Patriot will enquire at W. D. S., I have no doubt he will kindly tell him who inspected the work. Ons Wo Kyows. Cra peud, May 31, 1882. TS © cilelliiitaln come Ww eather Bulietiu.
