Johnston (SC-Bow River) ma Julian Ferguson (PC-Simcoe North) made the request in the Commons as urces DePIri-- ment estimates were studied. Mr. Ferguson said the govern- ments concerned should "get on with the job instead of puttering with it as Liberal and Conservat- ive governments have done in the past." i Mr. Johnston said it appears lit- tle construction has been done in Ontario. There must be an acceler- atlon oi the work to finish the highway within the seven-year life of the highway agreements be- tween the federal government and the provinces. Percy Black (PC-Cumberland) asked what part of 315,000,000 ep- propriated for highway work this year would be spent in Nova Scotia. Mr. Winters said none would be spent in Nova Scotia. since that province only recently entered the highway agreement. when Nova Scotia submitted plans, he would ask parliament lior the appropri- ate iunds for the work in Nova Scotia.
