The roads to New Annan, Kensington, and St. Eleanors are al- so very good.—S. --MISSIONARY MEETING-The regular monthly meeting of the Wo- men's Missionary Society of Trinity United Church, Summerside, was held on Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. L. R. Allen, the President, in the chair. Mrs. Goclkin, Vice-Pres- ident, and Mrs. Townsend, ex-presi- dent, were also seated with Mrs.,Al- len. The meeting was held in the church as the hall is undergoing ex- tensive repairs. Mrs. Allen opened the meeting with the Doxology; Mrs. Godkin led in prayer and Mrs. Townsend conducted the devotional period. Mrs. J. T. Waite, temper- ance Secretory, read a. most inter- esting paper on Temperance. The lords Prayer and a period of silent prayer followed. Mrs. A. S. McKay with Mrs. Douglas Gordon at the piano and also accompanying her in the singing, gave a beautiful rendi- lion of “In the Ivory Palaces." Mrs. George Sheen submitted the Treas- urersreport. Mrs. Harper, who had charge oi the study book for this month, gave a most’. interesting des- cription 0t the discovery of Canada by Jacques Cartier and also of the landing of Somuel de Champlain, taken from the chapter in the Study book on “The Making of Canada." Her address was most descriptive and gave a wealth of information. Mrs. Harper also spoke on the early missionaries and their work. She closed her address with the last verse of “Land ot our birth we pledge to thee."
