Mrs. Goodwin was born |in Alberton, the daughter of the late A. E. Forsythe of Alberton and Mrs. Forsythe now of Dorchester, Mass. She spent her girlhood days on the Island and was a gen- cral favourite. she often visited Sumerslde as the guest of ~Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rogers. She leaves to mourn besides her sorrowlng hus- band, one little girl, Miss Anne, aged three years; her mother who resided with her and one brother, Ralph, of Charlottetown, who left immediately on receiving the sad news to be with his mother. Island friends extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved family-S. —BRIDAY SHOWER. — A mis- cellaneous shower was given at the lovely home of Mr .and Mrs. Ollie McCarvllle, South Freetown, the guest of honour being Miss Jennie Johnson, whose marriage was to take place in the near future. About one hundred friends from far and near, assembled at the home. The drawing-room was very tastefully and prettlly decorated for the oc- casion. The brldc-to-be was escort- ed into the drawing-room and seat- ed in the "bridal chair," which was dalntily decorated. The wedding march was beautifully played by Miss Florrle. . Green, Bedeque. The gifts were then unwrapped and the huntcrous and witty verses were read. cau ‘n; much amusement and laughtzr. Miss Johnson, in a few well chosen words, expressed her sincere thanks, to the donors for their beautiful gifts and good wim- es. The presents included: Out- glass, linen, chlnaware, silver, en- amelware and many other articles, useful to the home, all of which goes to show the popularity of Mine Johnson lnthls and the neighboring communities. Miss Johnson has been the efficient and capable teacher of the Central Hecleque School, and has skilfully trained a large number of pupils up to the standard of their classes. A very sumptuous lunch was then served by the hostess and the assisting hostesses, which was greatly enjoy- ed.
