He has been through several battles, from bay- onet charges and although ,he came through safety had many narrow es- _capes and was reported at one time to have been 'kllle-d.‘ This rumor was occasioned by his comrades finding his. kit which was shot off him and on another occasion he had his rifle dis- abled while flring. Stewart, Brighton, and Mr L. P. Tanton, Elm Avenue, on the night of Hallowe'eii, between 9 o'clock and midnight. The boys all adniitted having been iii the hunch and that they had been shout- ing and larking, but denied any know- ledge of doing damage to property oi' removing doorsteps. After question- ing all the boys the Marshal gave them a few words of admonition. There were some big boys among them, he said, who ought to know better. They came so near being hoodlums that the ordinary person could not tell the difference. The case of the removing of a lady's doorstep had resulted in serious consequences, but he did not think any of the boys had been mixed up in that. He believed that these offences would not be repeated and appealed to their better instincts and trusted they would -be more honour- able in future. They were fined $2 with $1 costs each. This will prob- ably have a salutary influence on their future conduct. A charge ol’ ,selling barley beer over the 3 per cent. limit was dealt with, but was adjourned for a week. There were also seven cases of non-payment of dog-tax. $100 REWARD $100 The readers of this paper will beplessed to learn that there is at least one dreaded disease that science has been able tocure in all its stages, and that is cstsrrh. _Catarrh being greatly in- tluencedbv constuutional conditions requires constituuonaltreatment I-Iall’s Gatarrh Cure is taken internally and acts thru the Blood onthe Mucous Surfaces of the System, thereby destroy- ing the foundation of_ the disease. giving the patient strength hy buildiryg up the constitution and assisting nature in oing its work.
