_— THE DAILY EXAMINER. - THURSDAY, a tt DECEMBER 15, 1892. —_—_—_ owe es That Christmas Money. Iu the next few weeks people will talk Christmas more than all other subjects com vnned And very many will couut their pennies to see if they will go around, And some willr r the countless things offered for sale **that money talks Yes, and many 4 poor tired clerk will wish that they too could talk—back. To give un- selfishly without thought of return is the true Christmas spirit ; but how many times. oh buman nature, will the thought oceur this month *‘Now if | make so and s0 a Christmas present, wonder if 1 will get a return next year. The growing Christmas present custom comes hard among certain classes, who do _ not always have plenty of ready money; among farmers and | people near towns, who keep poultry, the | egg supply is a great source of Christmas money, because prices are always very high at this season. If the old hens will only shell out eggs now, thinks many a mother, I can soon get@back all the money taken for Christmas. The surest way we have heard to get it back is this: E Al Hubbard of Hatfield, Mass., says, “About I sent $5 for six cans of Sheri- | the one yeac ay dan’s Condition Powder to make hens ley, and in January my twenty-eight hens laid twenty-nine dozen eggs. | have sent £5 this year for six more cans and the Farm- | Poultry monthly Certainly that Christ- | mas money came back in short order. Mrs. Warren Delano, H ampden, Me, said re-| cently to the manufacturers of this wonder- ful Powder, ‘I send $6 for Farm Poultry two years, and six large cans of Sheridan's Powder. Itis the very thing needed, Last winter my hens did so poorly I almost lost heart, but this year 50 heas have cleared me $125.00. ‘‘All for a little courage and Sheri- dan's Powder, her hens paid her more than double the average usually allowed per hen, so that her Christmas money returned manyfold. Husbands, a word to the wise is suflicient; Make your wives @ Christmas pre- sent of six cans of Sheridan’sa Powder and take no other. For 50 cents I S Johnson & Co, Boston, Mass, will send two 25 cent picks; five packs for $1.09; or for $I 20, one large 2} pound can of Powder, postpaid; eix cans for $5.00, express prepaid. The best poultry paper—Farm Poultry—one year, and a can of Powder for $1 50. dl2 é6i wii — _ SHKODA’S LITTLE TABLETS, Mild, Safe, Efficient. Far su- perior to any pill. W P Colwill. dec? ti New York, Dec. 12.~A despatch from Berlin says that a grave crisis seems imminent in consequence of the rebuff sustained by Chancellor Von Camprivi over the army bill, owing to the attitude of the centre party. His retirement is loudly talked of. He is entirely out of touch with the people. ‘The city is full of sensational rumors; one is that the Reich- stag“wili be disso'ved by the Emperor forth with. From Rey. Jas. Carruthers, Pastor of James’ Church, New Glasgow.— Last year I purchased from Messve, Willis & Co,, Williams Upright Piano, believing it to be superior to any other that came under my notice. Since that time I have been more than pleased with it. The strength and clearness of its tone, the excellence of its action, have been the admiration of all who have played upon it or heard it. 1 can therefore recommend it to intending purchasers as an instrument that will in every way give perfect satisfaction.— New Glasgow, Dee. 10. dl2tf _ > — The doors of the Law Society of Ontario have been opened to women, and they may now enter upon the study of law in accordance with the act of the last session of the legislature, which em- powers the benchers to allow women to enter upon the study of and to qualify themselves for the profession of sclicitors, At a meeting of convocation recently, At- torney-General Mowat was present and cast his vote in favor of the ladies.
