HIGHEsT temperature 24th August 65.0. THE entries for-the races to be held at the Chalottetown Driving Park are coming in already, and there is every promise of the races on the 14th and 15th September. excelling any races THE cyclist who “suggests ` to the numerous amateurs who have taken to the sport this summer for the first time that in meeting other cyclists they in- variably keep to the right"must have done so either by mistake or with the intention ot killing or maiming all amateurs. The laws ot this country and the hyelaws of our cities and towns specify plainly that “every person rid- ing or driving any horse, carriage, wagon, sleigh or other vehicle on any square or street on meeting any other horse, carriage. sleigh or vehicle shall always pass leaving the same on the right hand.” Would it not to as well for amateurs to follow the rule prescribed and followed by the experienced and invariably keep to the lett, thus avoid. ing the danger oi a collision, and in all probability a broken whrel. THERE is no more pleasant outing for tourists and city people than a day in the country, and the P. E. I. Railway is an excellent means of transit. Satur- day excursion tickets at one single first- class fare for the return trip, are issued to any point on the Railway good to re- turn either Saturday or Monday. For! instance. <'me or more persons, desiring to spend Saturday at Hunter Biver, could proceed thither hy the morning train, go iishing, shooting, roaming about the fields or woods. and arrive home by the evening train, and the re- turn fare would be but sixty cents. Those having less time at their dis- posal could go out a shorter distance, by the eastern train at 3 p. m. or the western train at 4.10 p. m., arriving home by the evening train from the west. Others who preferred to be e ea ern 1 a western at 8-40 a. ni., returning by the western at about one o’cfo;°k, in time for dinner. The return fare for the Saturday excursions or the daily excur- sions of parties of ten or more is but three cents a miie. Tourists and others can thus easily enjoy themselves very uriexpensively. ° --¢-- INEBRIETY Is A DisEAsu -farties can be cured at the KEELEY INSTITUTE, Portland, Maine of Alcoholism, Morphj nisrn.
