At 214 East Washington street, Los Angeles, we visited Mrs. Sophie McNelll and her son and daughter, Joseph and Mazle McNeil-l. An- other son, Wilfred, died a few days previous to our visit and-the family were still in mourning at the loss of a fine man whose years were not far beyond the prime of life. .\Irs. McNcill is getting well along life's puthivay. She is now 91 years of ngte. Her birthplace was Grand River, Lot 14. P. E. I. From her I learned that we were closely re- lated. Mrs. McNeilPs aunt, Mary .\nn M.Donnld, was the wife of -\1lan Mclnnis of Seven Mile Bay. They were the grand-parents of this writer. This good old couple, ziftcr rearing a faintly of ten child- r-cn. passed to their reward many years ago. They were known as the “Old Kmgi’ and "Old Queen" McInniY. From an old record in my possession, I find that Allan Mc- Innis was one of the first and best contributors toward the erection of a chapel at Seven Mlle Bay back in the early 1840's. For one so old. Mrs. McNeill is in the best of health, with a fine son and daugh- ter to make her happy in her old 8K0. There were many other old fri- ends we hoped to call on, but time did not. permit. We must move fast around a city of over a million inhabitant: to see even a few friends or places oi‘ interest. 0n our return trip a short visit ivas made to the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Price, 88B Church street, Son Luis Obispo. Mr. Price is an American by birth and his good wife is a native of Summerside. P. E. I. Her maden name was Sophie Jamieson, and relatives still reside in that lovely town on the shores of the Northumberland. Some years ago Mr. ant Mrs. Price visited the Island and spent some time in Mrs. Price's native town. For the past two years Mrs. Price has been an invalid. She was pleased to meet one from her home town, and together we talked about most everyone we knew in the old days. With the California sun beaming into her room,, a nurse in attendance and a faithful husband to cheer her along, Mrs. Price appeared very happy the day we called.
