lows made a sensational aeroplane
night over the city of London yes-
terday, steering over Trafalgar
Square and St. James’ Pork, circled
the historical tower of St. Paul's
Cathedral and 'cut all manner of
aerial capers while thousands of on-
lookers becnine wildly excited.
Starting from Crystal Palace
shortly before noon, Willows steered
his machine over the very heart ol
the city, and the noon cr-o\vds in the
strects were electritieil at the
strange spectacle of the man-bird
soaring above the roofs of thc builti-
ings. '
Traflic came to a halt in the busy
streets, and thousands crowded the
streets and parks, gazing upward at
the during aeronaut_
The aviator traversed the cntirc
city, sweeping in a great circle\abo\'c
the housetofs. After crossing the
length of London he circled back to-
wards Crystal Palace, while bericatli
him the roofs became black with peo-
ple.
The police had a ditliciilt time in
handling the crowds. The streets be-
came so jammed that busses and
tram cars had to halt. Street cross-
ings werc bloc-kaded, and for a time
trafilc was suspended in the busiest
tliorouglifare.
