In- dustries Mentioned. C.uiPiai-:r.L'roN, P. E. I., Aug. ll.- Prince Edward Island at the present time is doing an immense business in the manufacture of cheese. Cheese factories are as thick as wheat fields almost all over the Island, and they all seem to be in a flourishing condition. A cheese factory in the village of Campbellton pays out one thousand dollars monthly for milk, and at Alberton, fourteen miles from Campbellton, another cheese factory is in operation, and at Tignish thereis another cheese factory, and at O`Leary there is still another, making four cheese factories for West Prince. As you drive along through West Prince you will meet teamsters hauling to the cheese factories tons of milk to be converted into cheese. They haul back from the factories great loads of what is known as milk whey. It is the “run-od" or “malt” from the cheese and it is fed to hogs and is very fattening. The cheese factories are a great blessing to the farmers’ wives of P. E. Island, as they save the women from so much churn- ing and give them much rest from heavy buttenmaking. ’ flourishing industry ll th I l d; widow of the late RevHazediah beefand mutton are 8' over e S an and motherof the Hon.
