NATIONAL FOREST WEEK ACTIVITIES [MY 6 - 12, 1984 This year, National Ferest week is being promoted on Prince Edward Island by a number of organizations. In previous years National Forest week on P.E.I. was promoted almost solely by the Department of Energy and Forestry. This year however, a number of different organizations are sponsoring events. This increased participation comes at a time when infbrmation about fbrestry and the fbrest industry on P.E.I. is required to complement the Canada/Prince Edward Island Forest Resource Development Agreement. National Forest week events will be taking place all over the Island, due to the locations of new participating organizations. Following is a list of events and their locations scheduled for National Forest week. Some events have not yet been finalized, but are listed with their sponsoring organization(s) so that times and places can be clarified. The events are free, so all ar encouraged to partake in the event(s) of their choice. - May 7-18 Forestry Branch Staff will give presentations about Forestry on P.E.I. to Grade 8 students in Kings and southern Queens Counties. May 9 Open House at Upton Road Forestry Office featuring greenhouse and 6 to 9 pm nursery tour, tour of Tree Improvement and Forest Inventory facilities . and equipment, woodlot equipment displays, fire equipment displays and slide/tape and video presentations sat.
