There was misunderstanding hard to
bear and not to be cleared away in

rest have come from imaginations,
fed by superabundaut ignorance on
the subject of independent journal-

“Neither friendship nor enmity
have had the least part in shaping
the policy of our newspapers. Mr.

supported and opposed if their
places were exchanged.‘ We have
tried to sweep the horizon telescopi-
cally to find the strong spots for the-
