his father Henry Terrel, is quite ill.
Mr. Terrel left Boston on Sunday
ni ht and witnessed the bi tire in
property; Mr. Terre! says the fire
was the worst since the big Boston
tire and was witnessed by thousands
of people. It was a grand eight, the
flames covered an area of about one
mile and was one half a mile wide
tank burned together, the flames
shooting hundreds of feet into the
air. The fire took place in tho most
thickly settled part of Chelsea and
homeless and could be seen sleeping
left, the fire was still raging. There
were four lives lost. Mr. Terrel says
reader has been kind enough to show
to The Guardian there are many in~
teresting events recorded of Char-_
lottetown of that day. On the day
preceding occurred what is yet re-
ferred to in this _ city“as the great
tire of 1866,"' when one hundred
houses and stores were burnt down
and thirty families rendered wholly

worked its way up town and over
towards ` Queen Street., demolishing
four blocks of what was than the
