Parking continued from page 6 For Veale, parking enforce- ment is a big concern. He rec- ognizes that people may be perturbed at paying for park- ing, but says to make a nation- al comparison. In BC, parking can cost as much as $40 a month. Compared to such numbers, Veale feels a $50 parking pass is reasonable. In terms of parking chances, UPEI makes no attempts at a caste system. Students, facul- ty, and service providers all have the same chance of get- ting a spot. He reports that 95% of people regularly fol- low the guidelines, but there are always that 5% who refuse to. In their case, he says they simply take their chances. Veale reports that despite popular misconcep- tions, parking concerns and complaints are passed along. Even in terms of appeals, the situation is reviewed and seen in. the context of the whole parking situation. The goal is to keep the users of the uni- versity happy. Veale urges anyone who has constructive criticism. or complaints to make use of the open door policy that the security build- ing maintains. a What's On Around Ch’ town er ST By: Adam Maclsaac April 6th Chris Field, Wax Mannequin, The Patients @ Baba’s Lounge “Slow Jams” 8-10 pm @ Cotton Center, Bunbury Lesley-Anne Bourne reading 7:30 pm @Reading Well Bookstore April 7th Open Mic Night @ Baba’s Lounge Irish Set Dance classes 7:30 9:30 pm @ BIS Hall Peter Chaisson (fiddle) Kevin Chaisson (keyboard) square dance 8 11 pm @ Old Lorne Valley School April 8th Warsawpack @ Baba’s Lounge Maxxpower @ Dutch Inn Lounge Chamberlane @ Melon’s Boys In The Kitchen @ Olde Dublin Pub Roger Jones @ St. James Gate April 9th Roger Jones @ St. James Gate 9999 Bluegrass & Oldtime Music ““Jams 8-10 pm @ Superstore Easter Musical 10:30 pm @ Grace Baptist Church Confederation Singers with Guest soloists Christianne Rushton & Carl Mathis 3 pm @ Trinity United Church April 10% Rock Ranger @ Baba’s Lounge DJ Putty, Nick Nonsense @ The Cellar.
