Winding Gulf in Georgetown harbor and the incidents taking place preceding the shooting of Antonio Roderigues, boatswain on that steamer, were brought out in the evidence taken at the preliminary hearing of Chester Anti, in the Supreme Court Rooms at George- town yesterday afternoon, before Magistrates Condon and Layers. Mr. Thane Campbell, Attorney- gcneral, conducted the prosecution for the Crown, and Mr. David Math- eson for the prisoner. Evidence was given by Captain Frank Johnson. of the S. S. Winding Gulf, Frederick S. Delano, chief of- ficer, Douglas Fifieid, chief engineer. and Richard J. Email} second officer. The two prisoners, Chester Anti and Fritz Posselt sat in the prisonersbox Anti. against whom is preferred the charge of murder, appeared to be perfectly composed. and smiled oc- casionally. Pcsselt seemed a little restless on occasions, and twisted his handkerchief nervously in his hands as the evidence was given. Both men are short. about five feet, six inches in height.
