And the new champions gained their crown the hard way. Trailing their opponents 8-3 as the game went into the sixth inning the winners made up their deficit in the last four frames to send the game into overtime and then had Whitlock provide the punch that returned them the winners. Taking a I-0 lead in the first frame Indians saw the Rovers knot the count at. l-all in the first half of the second and then after the ultimate winners had scored in the third the iiortliend team went to the front. with a three run out- burst in the last half of the same frame. Indians added another single counter in the fourth only to have Rovers duplicate that; one and then come through with their second three run rally 1n the fifth to lake a 8-3 lead.
