In the year 1819, live brothers, John, William, Mark, Robert and Thomas Inrnan emigrated from Yorkshire, England and landed on the shores o! Hampton, Prince Ed- ward Island, where by their indus- try and thrift made for themselves and their iemilies ' comfortable homes. Today their desoendahts are scattered over diflerent parts o! our Island and ewewhere, and have well maintained the characteristics o! their ioreiethers. Prizes were next given, one to the oldest Inrnan lady present, which was won by Mrs. Elizabeth Harring- ton, Nine Mile Creek, who was also the oldest person present, she being’ BB years oi age, still strong and ro- bust. Mrs. Harrington was heartily cheered as she came iorward to re- ceive her prise. The next priu was presented to the oldest Inman gen- tleman present and won by Mr, Wm. H. Irunsn, Grapaud, who is 83 years of age, and still in perieot health, able to operate his own farm and as youthiul looking as many twenty years his Junior. The third prize was presented to any member or thsCIn- man clan present with the largest family. This was tied for by Mrs. Henry Inman, Victoria, and Mrs. John McKinnon, North River, both with families oi eight children, pre- ‘ ‘ to Mrs. Inman as being near- est oi kin. Last prize was given to the youngest - ’ nt or the In- man family, which was presented to the ion months old child ,0! Mr. and being the great grand child o! ‘lhomas Inrnan, early pioneer. It was decided before the close o! this menwrable day to hold the next celebration in two years time instead o! ten .i'or the benefit ot the older ones, end a committee comprising and Arthur Ihman, Hampton, Ernest Inrnan, Tryon, Theophllus Inman.
