[SpeciaL to Tue Examiner J > 28,.-Sir Tupper left way to England Orrawa, May Ottawa yesterday on his accompanied by Lady Tupper. Nearly all the opposition members went to the station to see him off, giving him three enthusiastic rounds of cheers as the train pulled out. In the House of Commons, upon being criticised for his method of conducting the Public Work Department, Mr. Tarte threatened that if tke criticism® were contioued he would not stand it any longer . So far as could be gathered from Tarte’s vague threats he was giving it to understand that he would turp outall the empleyves of the late governmenton the Public Works staff.unless the opposition ceased their criticiem. Mr. Foster replied to Mr Tarte’s threat by saying that if the government wae mean enough to punish employes for the criticisms of the opposition he wonld regret it. He did not want to bring trou- ble upon Conservatives who remained in the public service, but if they were to suffer for his own proper criticism of the goverument he would not the less go on with performing his duty. yesterday> CERVERA’S ARRIVAL. 4 {[Seecian to Tue Examiver.] Maprip.
