This splendid animal, which shows good breeding in every line, was much admired. He wus being driven by his owner, and Mr. McKie to please some onlookers gave an exhibi- tion of speed. Jones was sentenced to thirty years, and his wife to twenty-Hvc years in the penitentiiiry. The girl was enticed from her home by Alsenia Jones in December, 1907, and forced into ii covcrcil wagon in which Jones was waiting. A week liiter Jones and the girl were found near Momeoro, Ills. When arrested, Jones endeavored to shift the blame on his wife, assert ing that it_ was to console her for the loss of n child by death, and nt her instance she took the child.
