Their crossing at the Capes yesterday wal very heavy but they enjoyed it well, The Ramblers, they say, are a mug- niflccnt lot of players and treated them well. In Truro the Abegweits played the ordinary game as seen on Prince Edward Island but the Truro people were evident ly not familiar with rough hockey forthey thought. the contest was an extraordinary rough cnc. 'l‘he Abegweits won by a score of 4 to 3. Following are some of the comments of the Amherst papers on the games :- ()n the average the Abcgwelts are prob- ably the fastest skating team that ever played in Anlierst. Some c'f' them are very speedy. Moran, the visitors goal keeper says that hc is of thc opinion that the Ramblers can t-rlm_ any team in Can- ada in their own rink. He does not be- lieve that they would have any show in Ottawa, but if the Ottawa team were to come down here where they would have to play good clean hockey and nothing else the Ramblers would win.---New s. For the first fifteen minutes the game was very fast, probably the fastest game seen in Amherst for some years. The visiting team was made up of good ska- ters and their players were good lift-ers and good individual players. They were wcuk in stick handling, however, and played little or no com- bination. The visltlng team seemed to suffers little from the trip from Char- lottetown, which as already related was a trying experience. In place of Mc-Millan, the regular covcrpoint, who stayed at home on account of the recent death of his father, tho visitors played Doyle, who usually plays forward. Notwithstanding the change, Doyle played a good defence game. Moran, the visitors’ goal keeper, proved to be it good msn and stopped a numberof shots. Musick, at point, put up a good all round defence game and at times made effective rushes. Hughes, at centre, turned out to be a good fast man, Holman, the visitors' rover is a very fast skater and n. good stick handler. Cushing and Gormley, on the wings, were both 1 The Island boys seemed to he laying for Chummy Murray and in the second half' the spectators witnessed two small-sized scraps. In the first one, Murray carried the puck down on an in- dividual rush and shot- for goal. His shot was stopped and it looked as though Moran in goal at- tempted to kick Murray. The latter resented this and Cushing and Lightizer took it up. For this offence, Cushing and Murray were sent to the fence for two minutes. Murray made another individ- ual rush, and as he went to shoot Light- flier attempted to strike him with a stick and a tight resulted.
