This provin- |— cial 4-H Club event got under Way officially in the Women's Institute building at the Exhibi- tion Grounds, Charlottetown, or the evening of Sept. 24th, when Premier W.R. Shaw declared the event officially open. A wel- tome was also given to the group Sy Cecil Stewart, president of the. Exhibition Association. The chairman for .the even- ing program was Mrs. Sterling MacRae, president of the Ju- nior Farmers’ Federation. At thi evening program the 1959 4H King and Queen were crowned the Queen being Gail Carter of the North Milton Garment Club. and the King being Jerry Doyle of the Summerville Calf Club. A very interesting dress feview wa’ put on by members of the 4H Garment Clubs with an accom- | panying commentary by Miss Manja Salome of the Middleton }son and Eddie Boswall showed the {of the Royalty club, and the Re- |Reserve Champion was a total of 60 groups that competed | in the various breeds. In Guernseys the top placing roup. came from the Kingston | club, and the Champion and Re- serve individual calves were own- ed by Bert Palmer of the Kensing- ton club and Clifford Green of the Kingston club respectively.
