This is the second horse Mr. Campbell has sold this fall to parties in North River. His zeal as a horsemen is commended _ Pnnsinnrrr Scnununr, in his annual address at the opening of Cornell Univer- sity before an audience of 2000, spoke strongly and earnestly concerning the subject of anarchy. A lawless student he declared, mightbe an incipient anar- chist. He depreced political and social inequality between citizens of the same republic, but pointed out that the pro- gress of a dangerous spirit of social dis- content might be effectively retarded by voluntary philanthropic action on the part of individuals. It is my honest be- lief, he said, that Mr. Carnegie is doing more to repress anarchy than any State combined would be able to do by legisla- tive enactment. Ynsrsnnsv Edward Hurry, charged with stealing money from Messrs. John McLeod & Co., and the store of Mr. W H. Frederickson, Malpeque Road, ap peared before His Honor and after hearing the evidence of a number of witnesses the prisoner was sent up to the Supreme Court on both charges. His Honor re- gretted that boys of the age of Hurry were not to ‘oe found in school. He was especially impressed with the neglect of the education of a young lad of 14 years who could scarcely sign his name to the evidence he had given. Just before the trial Mrs. Hurry appeared in court and asked for an adjournment stating that she wished to have the boy examined as to his sanlqr. This His Honor said would have to be done at the proper time. CHARLOTTETOWN MARKETS. (Corrected every Tuesday.) Beef (quarter). per lb.
