Annual convention The annual convention of the South Centre King's Dist7".ct of the Women's Institute was held in Grandview Hall on June 10 with the president, Mrs. H. V. Behm, presiding at both afternoon and evening meetings. The convention was well at- tended by members and visitors from nine branch institutrfi: Bei- icvue, Caledonia, Brooklyn, Valley- field, Hcatherdale, Kilriiuir, Mill- town. Whim Road and Grandview. Reports of the different institutes were read, summarizing the met- hods of raising money, and the donations to W.I. projects. and to community and school enterprises Questions from the question box were read by Mrs. George Clarcy of Whim Road, and the answers supplied by the supervisor and Mrs. Neil Matheson. “Fun and Nonsense" was conducted by Miss Joan Mac- Gowan and Miss Anne MacDonald of Kilmuir. The educational part of the program consisted of a short play by nine members of Valley- field W. I., outlining the history. aims and projects of the W.I. The speakers for the afternoon were the supervisor, Mrs. Manning. and Mrs. Neil Matheson. Southport. Mrs. Matheson spoke on Institute projects, and gave an account of her trip to the A.C.W.W. conference in Toronto last year.
