Convent Da Notre Dame. } CONCERT AND DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES. Tue exercises at the Convent De Notre | Dame were coneluded by a grand Concert and the distribution of prizes to the pupils in the Convent Hall last evening. The at- tendence was very large. Among those present were His Lordship Bishop Me- Intyre, Very Rev. Dr. MeDonald, anda large number of priests from the Island parishes; Senater Howlan, Edward Hackett, M. P., and Hon. W. W. Sullivan. An excellent programme, containing many classic selections was presented and rendered in a very creditable manner. The ‘** Musical Soiree,” in which Misses Kick- ham, McDonald and Caven took the prin- cipal parts, was well worthy of special mention, as was the “‘ Vagabond,’. by Prof. Caven. The choruses and the instru- mental selection—some of which were played by over thirty hands — were heartily and deservedly applauded. Those present—chiefly parents and friends of ihe pupils— gave several gratifying indications, during the evening, of their perception of the success which has attended the labors of Mother St. Hypolite, the skilled music teacher, under whose direction the concert was held. At, the close, His Lordship Bishop McIntyre complimented the pupils on the progress they had made during the past year.
