In an interview with the Sun, Ms. Crane said, " I was very excited and I nev- er suspected that I would be nominated during the senate meeting." Dody ran against Reges Diffy for this position. She was nominated by Stu- dent Union Vice-President, Kevin Gauthier. Mr. Duf- fy was nominated by Dr. Harronve. The next meeting of the MPHEC Nominating Committee will be in Halifax on Jan. 26/1978. Ms. Crane and U.P.E.I. President, R.J. Baker will be attending this meeting. The first job that the committee will be faced with is to fill the two vacancies on the MPHEC. Student Unid'l Ccmmnica- tions Officer, in an interview with the SUN, reported that the 1977—78 Student Directory has been published and is now \ available to all full—time students. It can be picked up at the Student Union office in the Barn from Pat Ingraham, the secretary. ‘ , 'J'heDirectoryisalistv of all full-time students, their home and university addresses, phone mmbers and their year at university. When questioned why there has been no directory for file past 3 or 4 years, Mr. McMahon stated, "It was due to. sheer shirking of reaponsibility of Communications Officers in thep’ast- and lack of interest on the part of students . " The Communications Officer is responsible for the newspaper, radio station and production of the directory. It would appear that at least Mr. McMahon is living up to his campaign promises of last Spring's election, these promises being an improved news- paper and radio station and the production of a directory during the Fall semester.
