Miss Olive Gallant has return- by In Memoriam saloons a. oas.r.ANr In memory of the late Isidore A. Gallant who passed away at the Charlottetown Hospital on June 8. 1954. He was the son of the late Amedee Gallant and Mary Gallant. After receiving his education at Rustioo Cross School. he entered Prince of Wales College where he Kraduated as first class teacher. He taught school in the western part of the Island for I. number of years. then decided to go to the U. S. A. where he obtained work 35 Wndllci-01'. then motorman on the street cars in Dorchester, Mass. After some twenty years of service he then decided to go to Florida. After three years he re- turned to P.E.l. where he met Mrs. Agnes Blacquiere and they were married on November 25th. Mr. Gallant took up farming in Rustico and was very successful. Having heard of Credit Unions Mr. Gallant began studying it. getting others interested in it also. Then he finally decided to form one. the St. Augustine Credit Union. He was made treasurer of this Union, holding this office for some twenty years or so until his hearing be- came too bad to give justice to the members. But he continued to give assistance to the members as much as he was capable of. I Mr. Gallant took great interest in discussing and promoting all parish and community affairs. His passing was deeply mourned by all who knew him, old and young. He leaves to mourn his widow Mrs. Gallant and a step-daughter Alma. now a.
