Arlington were greatly shocked on
Thursday morning last the 19th inst,
when they learned that Mrs Murray
McA\\Slin had passed away during th
night. Mrs McAuslln had not been
well for a few days and nothing ser-

soning set in and even then it was
not expected that it would result so
seriously. Mrs. McAus1in was a wo-
man of \\'hom no one could speak an
unkind word and her life and charac-
ter were ifbove reproach, The funeral
took place on Friday the 20th to the

| ANNIVERSARY.--An interesting
and unusual event was celebrated at
Kensington, on Monday, Feb. 16th,
fat the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ewin
Proctor, the occasion being the six-
tieth anniversary of their wedding. A
number of their friends gathered at
their home to congratulate them gn
having lived to celebrate their dia-
mond wedding, and n delightful ev-
ening was spent in singing together
.some of the songs which have been
known and loved for years. Several
solos were rendered, and there was a
pervadlng spirit of quiet mcrriment
lweii in keeping lien the occasion.
The friends who were present owe a
very pleasant evening to the genial
hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Proctor.
-COLLISION DAMAGE.-The work
of clearing up the track at the scene
oi the accident at Coleman on Tues-
day night was finished about 5 p. m.
yesterday. The first, train from the
west in charge of Conductor Hughes
arrived in Suimmerside about 9 p. m.
The wrecking train, as well as the
disabled engine, plow and cars, are
still at Coleman. There was not
much 'inmage done to the engine and
one of the cars. The other car, which
was struck by the plow is damaged
considerably at one end, 'as well as
one of the trucks broken. The plow
was badly damaged the whole lace
being torn oil lt. The wrecking train
will likely be taken to Charlottetown
with thc disabled engine and plow
this morning.J.
-INSTITUTE. - A meeting of the
farmers’ Institute w e held on Feb.
19th in Urhanvillc yghool. The chief
topic of discussion, was the proposed
butter plant ut Wellington. All were
in favor of patronizing e, butter
plant if located nt A. Village. Sonic
however, were for sending. their cream
to Wellington if Egmont Bay hangs
on to the cheese factory. Mr. Frank
I. Gallant insisted on a butter plant.
“A butter plant is what we want"
said he. "There was a time when the
manufacture of cheese was consider-
ed profitable. But now times have
changed, and we must kecp up tn
tho times." He stated that if no
huttcr plant was started in Egmoni;
Bay hc was going with Wellington.
Mr. Joseph H. Arsenault nnothrr
prosperous farmer was also in fuvour
of n butter plant. He was of thc
opinion that the people of Eiriiionin
,Bay were divided on thc question of
